There is now an additional access point for checking the balance of a gift card. The original location from the top tool bar is still available. And now, it can be accessed from the GOTO button at the bottom of the sales screen.
Feature designed for users with touchscreens that may not have computer keyboards attached due to limited counter space. When you select Manual Entry in the credit card authorization window, and onscreen keyboard will appear to allow the user to enter the card number via the touchscreen monitor.
For facilities that do most sales the Account 0 (A Cash Account). We have enhanced the speed of the software by removing some recalculation logic that only applies to Customer Accounts. The only time these calculations will run now will be when the user selects an actual customer’s account, thus improving the speed of processing sales.
We now have the ability to print a receipt when a customer inquires about the balance on their gift card (when they are not currently making a purchase). Simply use the GoTo button in sales, or select Gift Card Balance from the top tool bar. Enter the card number, and click History to display the Print to Receipt button.
Prior to this option, the user would need to create the customer account, save it, then go back and update the Username. By checking “add new customer username”, the username field will be added right before the firstname field in the Add New Customer screen.
This feature was designed to improve the functionality of Smartcard transactions. If the sales option is set to default to A Cash Account (acct 0), choosing a smart card item would warn the user that they needed to first select an account. They would have to dismiss this message before being prompted to select a member. The software will now skip the message, and immediately open the member search window.
